“Jazz with Jami Lynn & Guests”

Matthews Opera House and Arts Center, Spearfish, SD Category: Music, Concerts

Club Matthews presents the third Jazz Sessions event, “Jazz with Jami Lynn & Guests.” The show is a CD release concert for Jami’s newest jazz album (being recorded in July). While singer/songwriter Jami Lynn has built her musical career wielding a banjo and a bit of twang, her influences have always included the likes of Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, and Sarah Vaughn. Her latest album project showcases these influences and melds the classics with Jami’s jazz originals. This performance showcases sparse and haunting ballads as well as vocally-driven, scat-laden big band tunes, and marks the release of Jami’s first jazz recording. Filling out Jami’s light but sultry vocals and electric guitar are upright bassist Andrew Reinartz, percussionist Daniel Heier, and pianist Jeff Paul, and special guest on violin, Ingrid Lane.

Series ticket prices are $110 / $70. On Feb 12th seats open for individual ticketing. At that time, individual tickets are $35 a person for a table seat, $20 a person for the balcony, and $20 a person for a main floor “limited mobility” seat.
