Unwrapped, an exhibit of small works by local artists for the holiday season

Dahl Arts Center - Rapid City Arts Council, Rapid City, SD Category: Arts, Antiques, Crafts

The Rapid City Arts Council is pleased to bring you Unwrapped, an exhibit of small original works of art by local artists in time for the holiday season. The exhibit will be on display in the Lobby Gallery at the Dahl Arts Center from November 17 – December 16. Join us for a reception on Friday, November 17 from 5-7pm. This reception is in conjunction with the opening of Jerry Root’s exhibit, The Curious Art of Jerry Root as well as the opening night of our annual Holiday Art Market.

This juried holiday exhibit features over 80 small original art works by 35 local artists. The pieces were selected from approximately 150 submissions. Artwork includes watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, mosaic, assemblage, mixed media, photography and encaustic. In keeping with the idea that our visitors like to give and receive hand-made gifts of art during the holiday season, we set a size limit of 144 square inches maximum for each entry with the understanding that all of these original artworks will be offered for sale.

Exhibit sponsored by the South Dakota Arts Council and Rapid City Arts Council.

The Dahl Arts Center galleries are open Monday-Friday, 10am – 6pm and Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Admission is free; however, for those with the ability to pay, donations are encouraged and appreciated. For more information about upcoming exhibits, visit thedahl.org.
